SUBSTANCE: method of making multilayer packaging material (10a; 10b) involves steps of: a) forming a first tape comprising a paper layer A or paperboard or other cellulose-based material (11a; 11b); b) forming a second tape comprising a film or sheet B (12a; 12b); c) applying (21) an aqueous composition containing the adhesive in an amount of from 0.5 to 4 g/m², based on the solids content, on surface of one of first and second tapes; d) moving first and second tapes, one of which has a water-based adhesive composition applied thereto, to pressure rolls gap (22) for connection and layering on each other by means of an aqueous adhesive composition located between them when passing through the gap, and at the same time the adhesive composition is partially absorbed into the surface of at least one of the first and second tapes A and B.

EFFECT: method for laminating a cellulose-based packaging material is cost-effective and provides sufficient mechanical strength, as well as good barrier properties and integrity characteristics of multi-layer packaging materials for liquids.
