FIELD: measurement.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of studying the geologic environment using an electromagnetic field. Summary: multicomponent electromagnetic survey system comprises excitation signal of electric field Ex and receiver of reflected electric field Ex signals towed behind research vessel, magnetic frames for receiving reflected magnetic field signals Hy and Hz, located on a receiver of reflected electric field signals, a hardware-software system for processing the obtained data and simulating the section of the geological environment. Magnetic frames for receiving reflected magnetic field signals Hy and Hz contain bearing frames, upper parts of which are located on surface of water reservoir and have elements of buoyancy, and measuring frame located between lower parts of bearing frames and having weighting agents for imparting negative buoyancy. Method using system of multicomponent electromagnetic survey consists in excitation of electric field Ex, receiving the signal of electric field Ex and magnetic fields Hy and Hz, which are reflected from bottom of water area, processing data and simulating geological section corresponding to simultaneous distribution of electric field Ex and magnetic field Hy and Hz.

EFFECT: high accuracy of modeling a geologic section.
