SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, more specifically to a device and method for determining distance of focusing of an eye for a head display device. Disclosed is formation of multiple frequency-modulated laser beams in different directions, generation of interferometric signal for each beam, generation of signal spectrum for each interferometric signal, analysing signal spectrum and determining distances to reflecting surfaces for each beam of said plurality of beams, determining coordinates of points of eye surfaces for each of beams based on said determined distances and information on beam direction, forming a model of the internal structure of the eye based on certain coordinates of the points of the eye surfaces, determining the distance of focusing the eye based on the model of the internal structure of the eye.

EFFECT: technical result consists in determining eye focusing distance based on model of eye inner structure.
