SUBSTANCE: invention relates to security of user accounts and personal data. Method comprises steps of: a) generating a set of known user accounts; b) detecting use of a user account from a formed set of known user accounts by detecting the use of a combination of its login and password; c) checking for threat of unauthorized access to user data provided by account, use of which was detected; d) when there is a threat of obtaining unauthorized access to user data provided by an account, the use of which was detected, changing the password of the user account, the use of which was detected, using password change rules.
EFFECT: limiting unauthorized access to data and settings of a user provided by an account.
