SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control of technical state of asynchronous electric motors and can be used for detection of breaks of rods of windings of rotors of asynchronous electric motors. Essence: recording stator current at starting of asynchronous motor, signal is digitized, divided into intervals ΔT with duration where ΔF is the relative lumen of the used window relative to the width of the lug of the rectangular window; Tn is asynchronous motor starting time, s; fs is network frequency, Hz. Time-frequency spectrum of the detected signal is generated using a Fourier transform. Presence of the harmonic component in the spectrum from the fictitious winding of the rotor at the lower lateral frequency is determined, the order of which coincides with the number of pairs of poles of the asynchronous motor. In the presence of this harmonic component, the presence of broken rods in the asynchronous motor rotor winding is stated.

EFFECT: technical result is increased sensitivity to breaking of one rod and reliability of determination of broken rods for asynchronous electric motors with continuous start (more than 0_8 s).
