FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgy and can be used for purification from iron of chloride solutions formed during processing of copper-nickel raw material and during hydrochloric acid leaching of polymetallic raw material. Treatment of a chloride solution containing not less than 200 g/l of chlorine ions, an extractant in the form of a mixture containing aliphatic alcohols with number of carbon atoms of 8–12 and aliphatic ketones with number of carbon atoms of 8–11, wherein alcohols and ketones are taken in volume ratio 1:0.2–4.0.
EFFECT: method increases degree of purification of chloride solution from iron to 99_9 % and is more ecological due to use of nontoxic components of extraction mixtures.
