FIELD: nuclear equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear engineering and can be used in RBMK nuclear reactors. Method of RBMK reactor resource restoration consists in the fact that at deflection of tetrahedral columns of process channels and control and protection system channels, from which process channels are extracted, graphite blocks of these columns are cut along the faces into fragments, the fragments are displaced in the direction perpendicular to the cutting plane, and the deflections are reduced and the process channels are again placed in them. Blocks of tetrahedral strings of process channels having adjoining faces forming at least two pairs of parallel rows of process channel columns are cut. One pair of rows is located perpendicular to the other pair, crosses it and when crossing in active zone cross-section forms rectangle with sides not less than 6 inscribed diameters of column and with center passing through center of channel of control and protection system, which coincides with one of vertical ribs with vertical axis of symmetry of core.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to minimize changes introduced into masonry structure and to reduce number of cut blocks.
