FIELD: woodworking industry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for continuous acetylation of wood elements. Acetylation is carried out in an acetylating medium at a pressure of at least 1.5 bar g and with concentration of oxygen less than 1 vol %. Alternatively, the method according to the present invention includes steps of: (a) feeding elements from wood into a continuous acetylation reactor with oxygen concentration of less than 1 vol % and (b) processing elements from wood with an acetylating medium in a continuous acetylation reactor under conditions of acetylation of wood under pressure of at least 1.5 bar g.
EFFECT: method according to present invention enables acetylation of elements from wood to achieve high content of acetyl very efficient manner without deterioration of material quality; acetylated elements from wood can be used for production of medium-density wood-fiber boards with excellent properties, such as dimensional stability and wear resistance.
