FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to journal bearings and, in particular, to journal bearings integrating hydrodynamic and magnetic bearing elements. Combined journal bearing (IJB) comprises a shaft extending in axial direction; housing, through which axially passes shaft, wherein housing encloses shaft in radial direction; active magnetic bearing (AMB) located in the housing and surrounding shaft in radial direction; and at least first hydrodynamic friction bearing (JB) located in housing and surrounding shaft in radial direction. First JB is in axial abutment to AMB, and thus JB and AMB do not use common radial clearance together, however, at the same time, they are simultaneously immersed in oil. Control device, which is in signal communication with the AMB, can be made in various ways with the possibility of supplying current to it in order to bring AMB into action by controlling the magnetic force generated by it.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of an improved bearing for rotary machines, which is a hydrodynamic bearing integrated into an integral part with an electromagnetic drive, which are limited in a single space filled with oil, and a combined bearing of an active magnetic bearing capable or incapable of carrying a load.
