FIELD: composite materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of determining hardness of composite heterogeneous materials, which enables to increase accuracy of determining averaged estimated value of microhardness of functional surfaces of materials made based on modified wood. Essence: performing the test samples in the form of a tetrahedron, the base of which is formed by the diagonals of three adjacent faces of the trapezoidal prism, which side surfaces correspond to the radial, end and tangential sections of the base wood base, which includes optimizing structural components – antifriction fillers, solid lubricants, elements of increased elasticity. Working surface of analyzed sample is made in form of section, on which during its preparation provides for obtaining clearly distinguishable boundaries between separate structural components of composite material, thereafter, planometric areas are used to determine the area of structural components and their fractions taken within the limits of the total estimated area, as well as microhardness indices are measured.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of determining hardness of heterogeneous composite materials, as well as coefficient of generalized structural component, providing more accurate determination of general hardness of composite heterogeneous materials based on modified wood.
