FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of non-destructive testing of metals, in particular to determination of resistance of materials to corrosion cracking under conditions of simultaneous long-term effect of corrosive medium and static load. Method of estimating susceptibility to corrosion cracking of alloys consists in etching the polished surface of the analysed section of the metal structure with a reagent, analysing the microstructure of the etched metal surface, determining the presence of structural layers forming a spatial grid. A scratch is made on the metal surface; the width of the scratch in the interlayers and areas adjacent to them is compared, and a tendency to corrosion cracking is determined from the excess of the width of the scratch in the interlayers over the width of the scratch in the adjacent areas.
EFFECT: simplified process of evaluation of material susceptibility to corrosion cracking and provision of possibility to perform works in field conditions.
