SUBSTANCE: invention relates to traction vehicles. Caterpillar towing tractor of hoisting machine contains running gear, ICE, generator, which is directly or through a matching device is mechanically connected to ICE and is adapted to convert part of its mechanical energy into electrical energy and to provide electrical power of drive motor of hoisting machine. Tractor is made with electromechanical transmission containing traction motor. Generator is configured to provide said transmission with electrical power. Control system includes generator controller and/or ICE controller.
EFFECT: simplified design and increased fuel efficiency.
