FIELD: heat exchange.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat engineering and can be used for creation of efficient small-size heat exchangers. In a shell-and-tube heat exchanger, which includes a hollow cylindrical housing, which is bounded by butt end plates with holes for passage of the first medium along the pipes located inside the housing and having in the side wall near the butt end plates an opening for entry and output of second medium passing through annular space, as well as adjacent to end faces of butt end plates closed cavities for supply and discharge of first medium, at the beginning of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger, an additional sector is separated, by means of a separating plate, in which a crosswise perpendicular movement of air flows of the second medium relative to the first medium occurs for preliminary heating of the first air medium.
EFFECT: technical result is increase in operating efficiency at negative temperatures.
