FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to arc welding by consumable electrode and can be used for welding of high-alloy steels, thin-walled articles for facing deposition. Device comprises a DC source, two contact tips for supplying current to said electrode, a switching device connected between the power supply and the contact tips, and a control unit connected to the switching device. At that, switching device is made in the form of two transistor keys, isolated gates of transistors of which are connected to control unit, wherein collectors of transistors are connected to positive terminal of power supply source, and their emitters are connected to corresponding contact tip, besides, between the collector and the emitter of the transistor of each of the keys there is a protective capacitor, and between the emitter of the transistor of each of the keys and the minus output of the power supply source there is a protective inverse diode.
EFFECT: use of invention widens technological capabilities of device and simplifies its design.
