METHOD FOR PROTECTING, STRENGTHENING AND SEALING THE LARGE-RECTUS ANASTOMOSIS WITH THE USE OF A CIRCULAR SUTURING APPARATUS Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/00 A61B17/11

Abstract RU 2726587 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, particularly to surgery, oncosurgery, minimally invasive abdominal colorectal surgery. Involved bowel segment is removed. Constituent part in the form of a "fungus" of the circular suturing apparatus is immersed into a colonic stump and fixed with a purse-string suture. Circular suturing apparatus is introduced into the rectum. It is connected with the component part in the form of "fungus" and stitched both intestinal walls. Tissues are dissected between two rows of staples; a circular bracket suture – anastomosis is obtained. Additional sealing seam is set aside 2 mm from the circular bracket suture. Intestinal walls are connected and sutured together by a continuous serous-muscular circular suture with incision of 5 mm with an absorbable suture material, wherein during the first stitch, a thread is left. After the circular suture is completed, the ends of the suture are connected, and the free edges of the peritoneum are sutured above the anastomosis, thus isolating the area of the joint. Drainage between a rectum and a sacrum is established.

EFFECT: method enables reducing the risk of complications in the form of an inconsistency of the interintestinal connection when using circular lacing apparatus, both in open and laparoscopic operations, providing technical accessibility and simplicity of implementation, versatility and reliability of connection strengthening and sealing.
