FIELD: data processing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for automatic classification of electronic documents in an electronic document management system with automatic generation of electronic files. Based on a certain area of information responsibility and identified type of document, a classification feature is formed and an article of the departmental List of documents with storage periods (hereinafter – List) is determined, to which the executed document may be related. Based on previously determined requisites and unique keywords related to these requisites, a classification feature is formed, the outline of the electronic document management system (hereinafter referred to as "EDMS"), in which the document was developed, is determined. Based on the article defined in the List and the EDMS contour, a classification feature is formed and the period of storage of the executed document is determined. Based on a certain article of the List, a certain period of storage of the executed document and the executor of the document, a classification feature is formed and the case is determined, in which the executed document will be distributed, based on the specified confidentiality mark of the document and the known confidentiality mark of the case, in which the document will be distributed, compliance of the confidentiality marks of the document and the case in which it is distributed is checked.

EFFECT: technical result consists in automation of classification of formalized electronic documents in electronic document management system in electronic cases.
