SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method for intelligent information search and providing contextual information in distributed data storages, which consists in receiving and analyzing a text document, in which the essence of the task is reflected, automatically generating a search query, performing an information search and obtaining its result in the form of an information reference document, wherein using a knowledge base created and modified when performing previous searches, after analyzing a text document, in which the essence of the task is reflected, from the plurality of objects of the text document, identifying an object of the "task" type, which must be solved, restrictions imposed on its execution, attributes, as well as instances of objects and attributes thereof, semantically related to task, for each identified object, attribute, instance of object and its attribute, from plurality of objects through knowledge base performing determination of objects, their attributes, instances of objects, as well as objects which are semantically related to them, their attributes, instances of objects and their attributes, form in the form of a search query information on objects, their attributes, instances and constraints, and in response to generated search query information search, quality assessment, identification and aggregation of search results, assessment of the need to make changes in the knowledge base and initiation of the knowledge base modification process, obtaining an information search result in form of an information reference document and displaying it on a client electronic device.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of time for searching for pertinent information and faster information search.
