FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to geoinformation processing of data. Method for converting geographic information systems (GIS) data, which consists in collecting information about an object and making it into a system including data entry devices, information transfer device, index server, data storage device, data output device, in semi-automatic mode; entered data is divided into structural blocks and processed on the indexing servers; from the resulting ordered indexed array, remove duplicate information; the remaining information is subjected to a five-level programmed algorithmic processing with building relationships between objects, including a symbol-by-symbol level; dictionary level; level of morphology of the language; level of communication terms and objects; level of objects, after which the information received is placed on the data storage device, while the information obtained on the data storage devices forms geoinformation system databases.
EFFECT: technical result is the compression of a large amount of data.
