SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to oncology, pathomorphology, laboratory diagnostics and surgery, and discloses a method for diagnosing sentinel lymph nodes in gastric cancer. Method includes sample preparation, conducting flow cytometry with straight fluorochrome conjugates by 6 parameters, after counting cells in Goryaev's chamber and after preparing the cell suspension, performing immunofluorescence on a two-laser flow cytometer, followed by evaluating the number of cells expressing pan-epithelial markers CD326 and BerEP4 within all analyzed sample cells using FCSexpress Version 3.0 and Kaluza programs, and if the number of detected cells is more than 0.01 %, then this indicates a metastatic lymph node involvement.

EFFECT: method enables to take into account admixture of nuclear-free blood cells capable of creating a nonspecific background for epithelial antigens, avoiding the recalculation of the number of tumor/epithelial cells using the transient formula through the leukocyte count (CD45+ cells) and significantly reduce the threshold "positivity" level, thereby reducing the load on the pathological service of the therapeutic institution, substantially reducing the time for performing a lymph node examination for the presence of malignant cells.
