FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to amphibian. Amphibian comprises a body, a caterpillar propulsor, a power unit, a transmission, a suspension. Body is made displacement-tonnage and includes the main displacement tonnage and sponsons arranged on both sides of the main displacement volume inside the under-caterpillar space with the possibility of access to these volumes from the amphibious cabin. In one of sponsons there can be engine and transmission of amphibian or engine and transmission in each sponson. Sponson casing is used for installation of full (not lightened) short-stroke suspension not prone to caterpillar discharge. Sponson may also accommodate additional equipment, main and/or additional fuel and/or oil tanks, accumulators and/or cargo compartments.
EFFECT: higher speed of movement both on water, and by land and simplification of design of amphibian.
