FIELD: engine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to internal combustion engines. Internal combustion engine 10 includes combustion chamber 12. Chamber includes device 18, which moves in chamber to change volume of chamber and contains catalyst 50. First shutoff valve 24 is designed to pass incoming gas into the chamber. Second shutoff valve 30 is connected to the liquid supply system 32 and is designed to allow passage of liquid and steam-converting fuel into the chamber. Controller 48 is designed to cause the second shutoff valve 30 to pass liquid and a certain amount of steam-converting fuel into the chamber and when predetermined conditions are created in the chamber during compression of incoming gas to absorb heat generated by compression of incoming gas in the presence of a catalyst to initiate a steam conversion process for separation of hydrogen from steam-converting fuel or said fluid.

EFFECT: internal combustion engine is proposed.
