FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat accumulating materials. Method of producing heat accumulating material, which is composite KMgCl3, consists in preparation of mixture by mixing KCl and MgCl2·6H2O and obtaining composite KMgCl3 by thermal treatment of mixture. Chemical heat pump comprises a water storage unit serving as a working medium, a heat accumulation material retention unit and a water vapour transmission channel for transmitting water vapour between the water storage unit and the heat accumulating material retention unit. Heat accumulation method involves the accumulation and dissipation of heat in a chemical heat pump through hydration and dehydration of the working medium in the heat-accumulating material.
EFFECT: obtaining heat-accumulating material having high hydration ability and difficult to dissolve in adsorbed water.
