FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of separating ozone in a number of industrial processes. Method of separating ozone from a mixture of oxygen and ozone by feeding the mixture to at least one layer of adsorbent, containing adsorbing material for ozone adsorption. Adsorbent bed can be one of four adsorbent beds in a continuous adsorption cycle for producing ozone by circulating non-adsorbed oxygen together with make-up oxygen to an ozone generator or by applying it as purging gas. External purging gas is used to desorb ozone to the consumer process. In the presence of four layers, during almost the entire time, two layers function in the adsorption mode, while the other two layers operate in regeneration/production mode.
EFFECT: invention enables to create an efficient and reliable method which overcomes fluctuation in pressure and concentration, usually detected in products from separation processes with pressure fluctuations (PSA), without the need for large and expensive buffer reservoirs and which prevents accumulation of weakly adsorbed components, such as N2 and Ar, in a recycled gas stream.
