FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: gradient thermal stabilizer for liquid thermostat is intended for creation of zone free of temperature pulsations in volume of heat carrier of thermostat, which are connected with periodical connection of heating element. Stabilizer is submerged into thermostat vertical thin-walled metal cylinder with plugged ends, having on ends or (and) near ends of several symmetrically arranged through holes, through which its cavity is interconnected with main volume of heat carrier. Since the holes are relatively small, a stable vertical temperature gradient which is not disturbed by the operation of the mixer of the thermostat is formed inside the cylinder filled with the heat carrier by the moment of entering the temperature control mode due to periodic heating/cooling. Switching on of the heater in this case is accompanied by fast and uniform heating of the heat carrier through thin walls of the cylinder, which causes movement of the liquid column enclosed in it without breaking the gradient. As a result, the thermostatically controlled object located in the centre of the cylinder is in the heat carrier layer with the same temperature as the heat carrier layer previously in contact with it before heating.
EFFECT: technical result is higher stability of temperature gradient and creation of possibility of arrangement of objects of arbitrary shape and variable sizes.
