FIELD: rail transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport, namely, to diagnostics of train braking system by pressure variation in locomotive main tanks, and can be used on locomotives of all types and series that carry traction of passenger and freight trains. Method of diagnostics and control of train braking system consists in the fact that during operation of locomotive with train tracking and monitoring parameter of brake train network density for its deviation from normal, calculated individually for each train during braking tests. In the process of diagnostics, reasons for density deflection are determined on the basis of pressure variation in brake cylinders, brake line, as well as evaluation of pressure variation in the main reservoirs of locomotive. Calculation, identification and evaluation of all gas-dynamic processes takes place on the basis of analysis of change of curve of pressure reduction in main reservoirs of locomotive due to procedure of differentiation of causes of compressed air consumption, which base is ability to distinguish curves by nature of pressure change in time.

EFFECT: as a result of application of method for diagnostics and control of train braking network, traffic safety is increased considerably, diagnostics and control accuracy is increased, and time of failure detection of braking network is reduced.
