FIELD: transportation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of railway transport, in particular, to the pneumatic automatic brake systems control methods. Proposed method comprises monitoring parameters of pressure in brake line in main reservoirs as to time, as well as recording time and duration of motor-compressor unit operation. At that, as per the set of pressure changes in the main tank and brake line, when comparing them with basic ones, in any period of time it is possible to determine values of leaks in brake line, passing ability of brake line, full release of train brakes.
EFFECT: technical result consists in increase in the number of evaluated characteristics of the braking system, possibility of using the obtained diagnostic information for adjustments of driving modes during movement of a train.
