FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of ice formation and can be used in sports and construction when creating artificial ice rinks and their varieties - skating paths, hockey grounds and the like. Vortex generator comprises, as a main element, a vortex generator, wherein the vortex generator is a hydrodynamic cavitator comprising a housing with inlet and outlet nozzles, toroid-shaped cavitation chamber with holes for supply of air or liquid into the chamber and secondary cavitation element made in the form of a ring in the chamber cavity, and a rigidly installed spiral blade in the inlet nozzle.
EFFECT: result is improvement of ice characteristics for rolling.
