FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to maintenance of diesel internal combustion engines (ICE) of tractors, in particular to cleaning from deposits and resin deposits formed during combustion of lubricating oil and diesel fuel, and can be used to improve operational characteristics of engine. ICE cleaning method consists in the fact that the operating engine is heated to the oil heating temperature of 70–80 °C, engine is jammed, and mixture of ammonium hydroxide and carbamide and white spirit is poured into oil through the filler neck, with the following ratio of components, wt. %: ammonium hydroxide - 1…3, carbamide - 0.5…1, white spirit - 1…2, engine oil - balance, and simultaneously preparing a mixture of dimethylsulphoxide with ammonium hydroxide and isopropanol in the following ratio of components, wt. %: dimethylsulphoxide - 2…4, ammonium hydroxide - 1…2, isopropanol - 1...3, diesel fuel - balance, engine is disconnected from fuel tank and connected to vessel with prepared agent mixed with diesel fuel for 1 hour of engine operation under load, engine is started and allowed to run at idle rpm 5–10 minutes, after which the engine rpm is increased to 1000–1200 rpm and engine oil and lubrication system are cleaned for 30 minutes, after which the engine is stopped, the centrifuge is cleaned and the engine is restarted for 25–30 minutes, at the end of this time, the centrifuge is cleaned once more.

EFFECT: use of the proposed method will make it possible to increase quality of engine cleaning on the side of oil and fuel systems, thus improving operating characteristics of the engine and prolonging service life of oil before replacement.
