FIELD: engine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of engine building and can be used, in particular, in restoring the resource of a fuel injection pump (injection pump) when repairing a diesel engine without removing the injection pump from the engine by supplying a mixture of fuel with a tribological composition into the pump through a coarse-mesh fuel filter. The method provides a possibility of increasing the operating life of a diesel injection pump by restoring the piston pair to the parameters complying with the regulations for a new "plunger-bushing" pair.
EFFECT: method can be used to double or triple the resource of diesel, reduce the vibration, noise level, lower the fuel consumption by 25 to 30%, reduce the costs for overhaul by up to 50%.
