FIELD: oil and gas industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to oil and gas field geology and can be used at deposits and underground gas storages for assessment of technical condition of gas wells with inter-string pressure. Method involves creating a database of geochemical reference objects, sampling inter-column gas from those wells whose technical condition is to be evaluated, analyzing samples with determining the composition of hydrocarbons, including the isotope composition of methane carbon. In addition, determination of isotopic composition of hydrogen of methane is carried out and that gas-bearing horizon from which gas has got into interstitial space of wells is determined. At the stage of materials interpretation, the wells are classified as to their safety during operation: safe, relatively reliable and hazardous for operation.
EFFECT: high accuracy and reliability of selecting intervals of gas supply to annular space of wells and assessment of scales of possible cross flows of HC in gas wells.
