FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: gas samples are collected in the near-surface air layer and soil layer at a depth of up to 1 m. The samples are collected by periodically blowing the collection point directly using a helium analyser. The value of helium content in each sample is recorded. Samples are statistically averaged on given space-time intervals based on sensitivity of the helium analyser. Matrices of the averaged values of helium content in the near-surface air layer and soil gas are constructed. Maps of distribution of anomalous helium content are plotted based on the obtained matrices. Presence of hydrocarbon deposits is determined from said maps.
EFFECT: reduced labour input and high effectiveness of prediction.
