FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: method for recognizing a living body and a terminal device are provided. First image for the target object is obtained by means of the camera at the first focal distance and the second image for the target object is obtained by means of the camera at the second focal distance. Difference image is determined from first image and second image. Difference image is used to determine whether the target object is a living organism. Process of improving image quality with respect to the differential image is carried out. Binarization process is applied to a differential image which has undergone a process of improving image quality. It is determined whether the target object is a living organism from a difference image which has undergone the binarization process. One or more features are obtained from the differential image and determined by one or more criteria whether the target object is a living organism.

EFFECT: technical result consists in enabling recognition of a living organism.
