FIELD: manufacturing technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in production of multilayer sheet metal-ceramic materials intended for articles operating at high-speed impact loads. Sheet material is obtained by fusion with electric arc in plasma-forming gas medium of two sheet workpieces, one of which is made from titanium alloy, and the other one is made of titanium or aluminum alloy. Face metal-ceramic layer includes solid ceramic particles located in matrix of titanium alloy, back layer is made of aluminum or titanium alloy with elongated deformed grains, and intermediate transition layer has gradient hardness and includes zone of fusion of materials of said workpieces and zone of thermal influence.

EFFECT: invention provides high operational properties of sheet material by obtaining a uniform-thickness metal-ceramic layer of specified thickness with high surface hardness and small zone of thermal effect when using combination of workpieces from titanium and aluminum alloys.
