FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to a method of producing a composite material with a metal matrix, inside which there are continuous reinforcing fibres used in making aircraft parts. Method of producing composites with a metal matrix from light alloys, reinforced with continuous reinforcing fibres, includes making a unidirectional fabric from reinforcing fibres and foil from a matrix alloy, assembling a package of alternating layers of fabric and foil and pressing it in a vacuum container, wherein the foil from the matrix alloy is obtained by isothermal rolling of a fine-grained workpiece at temperature of 180–220 °C to achieve grain size of 20–200 nm, and the stack is pressed in isothermal conditions in the low-temperature superplasticity mode with the application of pressure for its sealing, after which, without removing the applied pressure, increasing the temperature of container by 50–150 °C and isothermal exposure is carried out for 15–120 minutes.
EFFECT: obtaining a composite material with a metal matrix from light alloys with improved strength properties due to an increase in the strength of the matrix with a grain size of less than 1 mcm, maximum preservation of initial strength of fibres and achievement of specified structure at matrix-fibre interface.
