FIELD: wireless communication systems.
SUBSTANCE: method of requesting system information in a wireless communication system through a subscriber device (UE) comprises steps of: transmitting a random access preamble to a base station (BS) for requesting system information; method includes receiving, from a BS, a random access response (RAR) message including a medium access control (MAC) subtitle. It is determined that random access procedure is completed based on RAR message not containing MAC RAR corresponding to RAPID; system information is received from the BS without sending a message to the BS in response to the RAR message based on the RAR message which does not contain a MAC RAR corresponding to the RAPID.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention consists in more effective use of radio resources for requesting system information.
