The effect is achieved by receiving system information by a terminal in a wireless communication system, transmitting a system information (SI) request to the base station, receiving an acknowledgment for the request from the base station, receiving a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) addressed to radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) for the SI, in the first SI window for the SI message immediately after receiving the acknowledgment and receive the SI message, while the PDCCH is received in the second SI window, which is adjacent to the first SI window in the period modifications, if the SI message is not received by the end of the first SI window.
EFFECT: enabling recovery from beam failure and cell reselection in a 5G communication system.
