SUBSTANCE: invention relates to push-notification systems associated with digital news. Disclosed is a method of determining a digital signature associated with a digital news item for determining push-notifications, which are intended to provide an electronic device to a user, wherein the method is carried out by a server which can be connected to the electronic device through a data network, wherein the method includes acquiring the server access to the digital news item, determining the digital news source weight ratio, determining by the server the digital news item significance estimate based on the news element publishing time and the weight ratio of the corresponding digital news source in response to the fact that the evaluation of the significance of the digital news element is above the threshold of significance evaluation, transmission of push notification to the electronic device by the server.
EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of accuracy of determining importance of news elements.
