FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machines for compacting soils and asphalt concrete. Method of vertical loads control on rollers consists in ballast material movement along frame and locking mechanism of this movement. Ballast material used is an additional roll with a frame, which is installed outside the longitudinal dimension of the roller and is connected with the frame of the roller by a transverse hinge. On the frame there is a hoisting device of an additional roll and a locking device interacting with the frame of the additional roll. During the first pass of the roller, the ballast material is placed outside the longitudinal dimension of the roller and freely resting on the sealed surface. At return motion, ballast material is completely lowered on rolled surface so that hanging roll nearest to it is hovered. In case of subsequent reversal of roller motion, ballast material is completely lifted from rolled surface so that maximum vertical load is created on the nearest roll. Then the ballast material is switched to the free support mode on the sealed surface and the locking mechanism is actuated.
EFFECT: higher efficiency is achieved.
