FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device and method are intended for determining up state of lubricants. Proposed method consists in that lubricant viscosity is determined at 20°C defined from time of filling cylindrical vessel in vacuum generated by piston, as well as density of lubricant by two densimetres that feature different density of floats. Wear products are defined on detachable magnet arranged in heat-resistant tube along with availability of coolant with the help of capacitive condenser arranged on cylindrical vessel bottom and corrosive effects on copper tube at 100°C for 3 hours. Then lubricant up state is determined from lubricant up state generalised index: LSGI =(1-"В")+(1-"П")+(1-"Ё")+(1-"И")+(1+"К"), where "В"=0.01 with vessel filling time t=2 s; 0.02 at t=4 s. And so on (as compared with fresh lubricant), "П"=0.01, when both floats founder, or when second float (from top to bottom) does not founder, density of the first is lower than that of fresh lubricant, density of the second is higher, "Ё"=0.01 when capacitance varies by 1 pF; 0.02 when capacitance varies by 2 pF (as compared with electric capacity of fresh lubricant), "И"=0.01 when one wear particle exists; 0.02 when two wear particles exist etc., "К"=0.01 with copper tube corrosion - 2 s, 0.02 with corrosion of copper tube 3 s and so on and so forth, in case oil level in crankcase decreases by 5 mm, 0.01 is subtracted from LSGI. With LSGU<4.98, oil should be replaced after eliminating cause of lubricant deterioration. Indices "В", "П", "Ё", "И", "К" indicate causes of lubricant deterioration.
EFFECT: possibility to determine lubricant up state and reveal defects in lubrication, ignition, air cleaning and fuel systems.
