METHOD FOR DETERMINING CONDITIONS FOR TRANSITION OF EXPLOSIVE MATERIALS COMBUSTION INTO DETONATION Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC G01N25/54

Abstract RU 2731956 C1

FIELD: fire-fighting equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire-explosion safety and can be used to obtain initial data when designing explosion-proof equipment and to develop measures preventing destructive consequences of emergency fires during processing, storage and transportation of explosive materials (EM), as well as when investigating causes of accidents with them. Disclosed is a method of determining conditions for transition of combustion of explosive materials into detonation (TCD), which involves placing a layer of EM with a given linear density in a pipe channel, initiating a predetermined place of its burning and recording conditions of TCD. Explosive layer (linear) charge with an easily combustible shell with a core from the analysed EM is used as a layer of a magnetometer with a given linear density. Several cord (linear) explosive charges can be arranged in pipe channel simultaneously. Pipe channel and cord or linear charge of EM may have non-round section. As a light-combustible shell of line (linear) charge of EM can be used impregnated with salt-oxidiser (for example, KNO3) cigarette or cigarette paper, nitrocellulose, polyethylene with ultrafine filler - salt-oxidizer, and other materials.

EFFECT: technical result is wider range of use and providing universality of method with simultaneous increase in information value of tests of EM and accuracy in determining conditions for transition of their burning into detonation.
