SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication, particularly to a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) transmission technique for adjusting the weight of each signal transmitted to each element of the antenna array and forming a directed beam. Disclosed is a beam control method, a terminal and a network device. Method comprises transmitting, by a terminal, information on characteristics of each beam from a first set of beams to a first network device, wherein the first beam set comprises at least one beam, and the feature information is used to determine the target beam by the first network device; receiving, by the terminal, indication information sent by the first network device, wherein the indication information is used to indicate the target beam determined by the first network device; and performing by the terminal control of beams in accordance with target beam. By transmitting information on beam characteristics, terminal determines optimum target beam for terminal, and then performs control of beams in accordance with target beam, resulting in improved quality of signal transmission.
EFFECT: technical result is improved quality of signal transmission.
