FIELD: veterinary medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the use of a combination of dinotefuran, permethrin and pyriproxyfen in a method of controlling the distribution of dirofilariasis, such as a heartworm, from at least one dog, infected with filarial nematodes, such as Dirofilaria spp, and having microfilaria circulating in the blood stream, to an uninfected dog by inhibiting microfilaria absorption by non-infected mosquitoes when in contact with said at least one infected dog, where said combination is introduced into at least one infected dog.
EFFECT: invention provides prevention of distribution of filarial nematodes to other animals.
