SUBSTANCE: invention refers to veterinary science and concerns treating or preventing a parasitic infection of Dirofilaria immitis in a dog in which the Dirofilaria immitis strain is resistant to treatment or prevention by only one macrocyclic lactone. Method comprises: oral administration once a month to said dog a combination of: a) at least 5 mg/kg of at least one cyclic depsipeptide and b) at least 6 mcg/kg of at least one avermectin with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein a) and b) with a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier are administered simultaneously.

EFFECT: invention provides 100 % clinical effectiveness or prevention of infection of the strain Dirofilaria immitis, which is resistant to treatment and prevention by only one macrocyclic lactone.
