FIELD: glass industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of decorating glass and enables to obtain relief structures on the outer surface of hollow glass articles, having high height and high definition. According to the method of producing relief on glass article (1), the following steps are carried out: a) application of chemical resistant mask (2) on protected areas (12) of glass article (1); b) performing a sequence of cycles, each cycle including: phase b1) of acid action, capable of dissolving glass on unprotected sections (11), and washing phase b2) for removal of dissolved glass and precipitation after acid action, to provide anisotropic action along perimeter of mask on etching phase; c) removing mask (2). Acid exposure phase is carried out in an acid bath containing 30 wt % to 70 wt % sulfuric acid, 3 wt % to 17 wt % hydrofluoric acid and water—the balance, where ratio of weight of sulfuric acid to weight of hydrofluoric acid ranges from 1.8 to 18. At step (b1) articles (1) are immersed into a bath for time of 5 to 20 s, preferably, to 10 s.
EFFECT: disclosed are a method of producing relief structures on a hollow glass article and a hollow glass article obtained using said method.
