FIELD: decoration.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of decoration, in particular, frosting of glass narrow-necked containers, and can be used in glass industry. Method of frosting glass narrow-necked container includes installation of item on rotating turntable, supply of alumina for sputtering in form of powder into plasma torch and its plasma spraying, removal of matted item from rotating turntable. Narrow-necked glass container is preheated to temperature of 473 K by exhaust plasma-forming gases. Alumina in form of powder of fraction with size of 45–80 mcm is sputtered on rotating glass article at power of plasmatron of 9 kW and consumption of plasma-forming gas 1.2 m3/h at distance of 200–250 mm from edge of plasma burner to surface of glass article.
EFFECT: reduced power consumption due to reduced duration of process cycle of plasma spraying, as well as uniform light transmission of glass articles due to sputtering only fine fraction of alumina.
