SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the computer equipment. Method for dynamically updating a search index of a server, divided into a plurality of parts, each including a portion of a plurality of documents, the method comprising: receiving a request for updating a set of documents, including removal of first subset of documents, calculation for each given part from set of plurality of parts, wherein each given part includes at least one document from first subset: active size of active documents set, wherein the set of active documents does not include at least one document of a common size, wherein the total size does not include at least one document, and the ratio of the active size to the total size, making a copy, based on a relationship, a subset of parts to obtain a subset of candidate parts, updating a set of documents in a subset of candidate parts, replacing a subset of parts with a subset of candidate parts.
EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the use of computational resources when updating a search index database.
