FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of determining volume of cargoes of timber on vehicles. Device comprises five photometric scanners (CK1-CK5) arranged on a metal frame and configured to automatically correct rotation angles, recording modules - K1, K2, K3, which are television cameras arranged on frame, recording modules KT1, KT2, which are located outside the recording modules attachment frame and located at angle of 45 degrees to the cargo movement axis, module for measuring distance and synchronization (CK-6) located at the site end. Each of the modules has internal heating, the device also comprises an ambient temperature measurement sensor and temperature measurement sensors inside the modules for controlling the module heating activation system, when the minus ambient temperature limit is reached and the forced ventilation of the modules is enabled, when the positive temperature limit is reached. Proposed device comprises processing part to receive data, measurement of cargo width and height, area of end parts, load diameter, calculation of complex shaped cargo volume using measured data, and control of module measuring part.

EFFECT: achieving the function of measuring volume of transported goods by road and rail without stopping and unloading.
