FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to compressor engineering and concerns the construction of electromagnetic compressors. Electromagnetic compressor comprises two concentrically arranged magnetic circuits in the form of hollow cylinders fixed by end pads. Excitation coil is fixed between said straps, on both sides of which there installed are movable working elements with formation of compression and expansion cavities. Working elements are made of magnetic material and slide in the gap between magnetic conductors. Magnetic cores and working elements are cut along generatrix with gap filling by non-electroconductive material. End pads are made of electrically insulating non-magnetic material and have central hole. Cavities of compression and expansion, respectively, are interconnected.
EFFECT: invention allows simplifying the compressor design and improving its operational properties.
