SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a device and a method of separating hydrocarbons from solid particles in an aqueous mixture of hydrocarbons and solid particles. Device for separating hydrocarbons from solid particles in an aqueous mixture of hydrocarbons and solid particles comprises a container for placing an aqueous mixture of hydrocarbons and solid particles; a shock wave generator comprising a pair of electrical leads disposed within the container; one or more augers for movement of mixture in container; pulse power supply configured to supply one or more voltage pulses to a pair of electrical terminals. When a voltage pulse is applied to a pair of electrical leads, a shock wave is created in the mixture to facilitate separation of the mixture components.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing the need to supply external heat to the raw material, providing high-intensity mixing, reducing the use of additives, potentially hazardous for the environment.
