FIELD: aviation.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular, to aircraft engineering (AE) maintenance methods using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). Method of examining aircraft surfaces using UAV is that high-resolution cameras and laser radar are mounted on UAV, fixed on three-stage suspension with servo drives, which in its turn is connected to the flight controller for determining the spatial position of the UAV. A 3D model of the analyzed AC is loaded into the program, and the operator manually sets coordinates in the form of intermediate points, which are used to construct the trajectory in the subsequent flight. Data obtained in the process of analyzing the surface of the AC are transmitted via a wireless communication channel to a computing device and processing and comparing the obtained data with the previous AC survey by superimposing obtained 3D model of the aircraft on the previous research model, by analyzing photoreport with reference to AC structure to determine localization of deviation from previous one.

EFFECT: reduced time and higher quality of AC maintenance.
